About the Owner
Owner-operator Bob Jones has 37 years in the motorcycle business with over 500,000 miles of personal street-riding experience across all of North America — 215,000 of those miles on Yamaha XS-Eleven motorcycles.
Bob spent four years in the US Navy as a deep sea diver, eight years as a police officer, and then moved on to 17 years as a Yamaha franchise dealer, one year as a Kawasaki franchise dealer, and two years as a BSA franchise dealer. Concurrently, Bob has been the owner of Merriam Cycle, an independent motorcycle re-manufacturer, for more than 17 years.
His main interest being motor vehicles, Bob spent 15 years road racing Formula 1, 2 and 3 — three years as a rider and twelve years as mechanic and sponsor for JoCo Motors Inc. using Yamaha.
Bob has gathered a team of expert motorcycle mechanics and restorers. His experience and his team's experience with motorcycles have given Merriam Cycle a reputation for excellence in the repair and rebuilding of classic motorcycles into precision works of art.
