The Restoration
This custom restored XS1100SG Yamaha Special is done in clear-coated jet black, trimmed in chrome. The motor case covers, muffler hangers and seat rail are all chrome. Tank and side covers are hand-rubbed lacquer.
The engine fins are all hand shaped and polished. The lower cases are painted in gloss black engine heat paint, highlighted with chrome covers, then fitted with a chrome 4-1 Jardine exhaust. An awesome package coupled with the high polished wheels and black castings. This decor has become our most popular scheme — and the only one we duplicate.
This 4-1 system delivers the same torque as the original 2-pipe exhaust did, and is 27 pounds lighter, giving the bike a more nimble feel.
Every system on the bike has been gone through, including the brakes, carbs, lined fuel tank, and many new OEM parts and accessories. Like-new tires, brakes, battery, K&N bars, Oury grips, and cruiser mirrors all make this a new-bike look.
